for all dads
return to the pain
late
as in
when your asleep
amidst the mist
or perhaps the heat
that takes it breath
among the width
of your own dreams
return and take the door
so late
dont hesitate to turn the handle
as i did to escape
but times have gained such weight
that a sadness does seem to creep
and take its place up over my cheek
into my eye
to form a tear
return to him
late dont leave him there
i shall wait
behind your eyes my dear
as my old age does wither
and death draws near
even if you have a wee slither of passion
i shall remain abandoned in your memories
the little girl who sang a tune
\so early in the morning
it serves me a small ration of emotion
that does return to me
to such pain
i think you should see the boy again
as i too can see happiness within me fade
may you two rest in love forever in the world
as i too shall too return my thoughts unto the little girl
and know that life is made
