promise

i made a promise
to myself that i would
come out and say
i love you but it never felt

quite right,though seeing you
now and on a day
 of misery, is filtering my dour whimsy out
the sun within me may shine another day
 as i am with
i feel how i am without

eitheir way its fine
i made a promise
to myself
and on this day
id like to let it out
and say
within and with you
in love a smile
is your design
brilliant a wind that blew
the candle out
it shines forever
with me

i broke a promise
i let the shadow flee
away but now its free
i see your sad

maybe perhaps
within yourself
you think you see
a setting mist
 a meeting then that went like this
that broke another promise
