divergence

sullen transcendence
through the wires
effortless effervescence
a man on hire
for adolescence
to push the dire
complicated question

in a sinkhole
two bits of information conspire
to grab you
one takes you higher
and shows you love
in rain consumed
up there amidst the clouds

the other then
takes you down
to coldness in seething sunbeams
and tells you how
you could of approached
the first one differently

and reason shows the first ones sound
but the second one when you come down is maybe
just as threatening

and as you stare into the canyon
peering
looking for a right way round
the middle road is opening
and it begs your ears for hearing
it tells you life
a composite of happiness and sorrow
so I feel the first one today
may i take the second one tomorrow
