scent sense
I saw her flew
I saw her through
The window, kids drew
Concise circles flung, into mind
A bell rung
And reverberated, such dissonance
While kids run
To the tree in the distance
A far flung
Memory, casting
The words casting
Carving into wood
A remembrance
Of a past time
I feel with time
This age, this component
This image of me
This moment
This cage
Growing as I
Step into this other age
They call growing
This youth this rage
This lust
I can’t trust
I can’t behave
This moment telling lies
I won’t believe
I can’t conceive this thought in time
But will in later days
This spine
This shingle
This clamp that grasps
Which makes a smile depart away from
A passionate heart
To hold
As dewdrop memories fade
It’s damp
It’s nice to see you then
Your smile, your face
Your laughter heard swiftly in the rafters in those days
Your heart was broke but all will mend it
The bullet decimating skin
Cutting all the strings
The veins
The body
This brain
The pain
It stings
The bell it rings
you wake
you swallow the pills you take
you draw the blinds to let the light in
you look on past times as if to say
that’s back then
from here
begin
